The “Green Book”, also known by its formal name, “Standards for Internal Control in the
Federal Government”, is issued by the US Government Accountability Office (“GAO”).
The Green Book sets the standards for an effective internal control system for federal
agencies and provides the overall framework for designing, implementing, and operating
an effective internal control system.
An entity uses the Green Book to help achieve its objectives related to operations,
reporting, and compliance. This course will take attendees through best practices in
applying Green Book standards throughout any organization.
Who Should Attend: Financial, Operational, and Information Technology Auditors with
interest in a deeper understanding of the Green Book Standards (NASBA Field of Study:
Auditing).
