This course is designed to give Internal Auditors at all levels an understanding of the Internal Auditor’s role in leadership in the internal audit activity, organizational leadership, ethical leadership and innovation and change leadership. The course is oriented around roles and responsibilities for all internal auditors, regardless of their position or level in the audit organization, to embrace their potential to favorably impact the organization through leadership.
Course learning objectives include:
• Understand the importance of aligning internal audit strategy to organizational strategy;
• Develop awareness of the importance of advocacy, individual brand and reputation and managing stakeholder expectations,
• Develop awareness of various leadership theories;
• Understand leadership vs. management;
• Develop awareness of team dynamics, motivation theories and managing conflict;
• Understand the leader’s role in nurturing individual talent;
• Explore generational differences and the impact on employee retention; and
• Understand change management and leadership
Course learning objectives include:

At the conclusion of this course, participants will understand:

• Their individual brand, reputation and strategies for managing stakeholder
expectations;
• Various leadership theories;
• The similarities and differences between leaders and managers;
• Various leader roles in team dynamics and managing conflict;
• The leader’s role in nurturing individual talent, generational differences and the
impact on employee satisfaction and retention; and
• The implications of leadership in organizational change management.
